推定1980年頃/MELBO/TOM THUMB/110カメラ/26mm
【Photo】
【Explanation】
The MELBO TOM THUMB is a compact 110 film cartridge camera equipped with a fixed 26mm lens. Named after the fairy-tale character “Tom Thumb,” the camera was marketed for its ultra-small size and simplicity, appealing to casual and beginner photographers. Based on design cues, typical branding trends, and the global popularity of the 110 format introduced by Kodak in 1972, this model is estimated to have been released around 1980, during the peak of 110 film camera adoption in Japan and abroad. Very little documentation remains for MELBO-branded products, and surviving units like this are of particular archival interest as examples of compact, cost-effective analog photography from the Showa era.
